Yellow-breasted chat (auricollis): proposed recovery strategy 2014, long descriptions
Figure 1 shows the global breeding and wintering range of both subspecies of Yellow-breasted Chat. The western subspecies (auricollis) breeds west from the central Great Plains and prairies, from southern Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia, to northern Mexico in the south. It winters from northern Mexico and southern Texas in the north, to central Guatemala in the south.
Figure 2 shows the breeding distribution of Yellow-breasted Chat auricollis in Canada, including numbered populations in British Columbia. The locations are found in central and south Okanagan and Similkameen valleys and in south-eastern British Columbia near the city of Trail.
